Currently reading: To Love Jason Thorne
Olive has loved her brother’s best friend, Jason Thorne, since she was 8 years old. Now she’s all grown up and he is Hollywood’s It Boy. Not much has changed; she still loves him. And guess what Hollywood hunk is starring in the new movie based on Olive’s best-selling novel?
To Love Jason Thorne is not my usual fare. Light and entertaining…. I must admit I’m a sucker for a Hollywood romance… I’m enjoying it well enough. Olive is a likeable heroine. And Jason has himself a dirty mouth and I LIKE it! So, not a five-star read for sure. But definitely not a waste of time.
Recently finished: Wait for It
If anyone ever said being an adult was easy, they hadn’t been one long enough. Diana Casillas can admit it: she doesn’t know what the hell she’s doing half the time. How she’s made it through the last two years of her life without killing anyone is nothing short of a miracle. Being a grown-up wasn’t supposed to be so hard. With a new house, two little boys she inherited the most painful possible way, a giant dog, a job she usually loves, more than enough family, and friends, she has almost everything she could ever ask for. Except for a boyfriend. Or a husband. But who needs either one of those?
Oooohhhh, I loved this one. A LOT! It deserves it’s own review, so I won’t give too much away here. But I will say that Mariana Zapata is right up there with Penny Reid as one of my favorite authors. I’ve reviewed one of her books before; I’ve read several. But Wait for It has to be my favorite so far. If you’re a fan of audiobooks, I recommend the Audible version of this. The narrator, Callie Dalton, is amazing!
What I’ll read next: Wild Heart
For Lawrence “Viper” Finkle, hockey isn’t just a sport, it’s a way of life. Since the first time he stepped onto the ice at just eight years old, he knew what he was meant to do, and he does it well. When his career takes an unexpected hit, and his relationship is pushed to the breaking point, he’s left sidelined and wondering what his future holds.
Just when he’s sure things can’t get any worse…they do.
Can Viper pull himself together in time to save his career, his girl, and his sanity? Or will he be permanently benched?
A while ago (because I LOVE hockey and books about hockey players), I picked up Room For You for Kindle Unlimited. The cover made it look like the book equivalent of a Hallmark Channel movie. Fun and frivolous, but hey! It was free! Well, I really liked it. It was surprisingly deep and – dare I say – funny! I started reading all the books in the Cranberry Inn series and this (sigh) is my final installment.
I’m unsure what to expect but there’s hockey players involved so…. chances are good I’ll like it! Tyler Seguin, anyone? (I ❤ him)
